In the beginning of this quarter we did research about our existing toy, which is from Papua. We have to find the information about the community and the toy. For example, what is the toy, what was the toy made of, how to play it, value or virtues that found in the toy, extra information about the toy, what is the community, what do they believe, etc. After we finish with the venn diagram we continue with other task, define problem. We are working with the group for this task, we have to explain and justify the need for a solution to a problem for a specified client/target audience. In this task we did a several things, which are find a stereotype or not-fitted perspective which stays in your province or island from the past up to now that was taught through the traditional toy, find the expected perspective from SPH Vision and Mission also Values and Virtues, and justify the need for the target market to change perspective through literature. After that we continued with the second task, which is time with preschooler. We also did this with the group. The purpose of this task is to justify the need for changing the perspective through primary and secondary resources and to create preschoolers profile. The teacher gave us time with preschoolers to play with them and to observe their characteristic. We can choose preschoolers to be interviewed to create costumer profile. Through this interview we can know what the preschoolers like and dislike. Then we continued with the third task, which is product analyzing. In this task we are working individual, we have to choose 4 inspiring toys that train the chosen positive value, analyze the products based on ACCESSFM, and conclude the ACCESSFM to create the design specification. After finishing the product analyzing we continued to task 4, developing a research plan. In this task we have to make individual research plan, we have to complete the topic and the inquiry questions that include 7 key word (Traditional toys, toys, preschoolers, sustainability, non-fitted perspectives, values and virtues, and learning areas). For the sub-topic we can choose 4 of 7 points, I choose value and virtues, non-fitted, preschoolers, and sustainability. After completing the individual research form we continued to task 5, which is design brief. This is our last step before we make the design of the toy. This task will summaries the relevant findings from our research and informs the development of our design specification. In this point we don't need to present our idea about the toy but we focus in this phase of the course is on the market opportunity, so we are not in the solution concepts.
As you can see beside, that is my best work for this quarter. I got 7 for my criteria A and I satisfied enough with it. Actually, to complete this assignment we need to complete 4 other tasks. I put so much effort to complete this assignment, I did research from several website to get some information, I interviewed that would give reliable information, for instance preschooler's teacher, the preschooler, and others. Even I got 7 for criteria A I have to maintain my score for other criteria or increase my score for other criteria. |
Key Concept: Development
The key concept for this quarter is development, which is the teacher wants us to develop a traditional toy that can teach the preschooler positive thing. Even we could develop the traditional toy we have to keep the value and virtues from the toy. We also have to develop the toy more creative and more attractive the preschooler.
